Cooperative learning structures are activities or "games" as I like to call them that promote cooperative learning. In a cooperative learning classroom student are in teams. See teams page for more info
Stand Up, Hand up, pair up
This structures begins many structures its a good one to teach right away.
1. Teacher says, when I say go you will, "stand up, hand up, pair up"...Go!
2. Students stand up with one hand up and find the closest person that is not in their team.
3. Students pair up by giving each other a "high five" and put their hands down.
4. Teacher gives further instruction (uses another structure)

Rally Robin
1. Teacher poses a problem (short response)
2. Think time is given
3. Partners repeatedly take turn answering orally

Quiz Quiz Trade
1. Stand up hand up pair up
2. Partners high five: partner A quizzes partner B

Rally Coach
For this structure have students use one pencil and one paper. The coach needs to agree with each step in the process of solving. This ensure students are listening to each other.
1. Students sit in pairs (side by side)
2. 1st problem: partner A solves, partner B coaches and praises
3. 2nd problem: partner B solves, partner A coaches and praises
4. Continue solving problems taking turns

1. Questions cards are placed in center

7. Teams celebrates or coaches
8. Captains rotate to start a new round.
